He originally agreed to sing the song for Ivo on TMC`s Blood and went into the studio to record for two days and ended up in a big disagreement about the way it was being approached. Later, Volume wanted a new Cindytalk track for their comp, but Gordon didn`t have anything new at the time except the then-unreleased Wappinschaw album. He didn`t want to split anything off of that, so he pitched the idea of Help Me Lift You Up because he was so taken with the song and Mary Margaret O`Hare. They and Robin Guthrie agreed to donate the money and studio time to record it. Nothing else has been done under the name Macbeth. But in the future Gordon plans to do either covers of songs or traditional Scottish songs under the name Macbeth. Some of the other side projects of Gordon`s have been The Freeze (pre-Cindytalk from the late-70`s, I have two 7-inch`s), Lucinder (the name the band uses when they want to do a live show but not under the name Cindytalk), and Bambule (Gordon`s industrial-acid electronic project going on right now). Nothing by Bambule has been released, but Praxis in London have expressed interest and a few singles might be out in the next few months. This info comes from Gordon himself (nice guy that he is). ..................Paul
