The double CD comes with a press sheet, in 8vo-DC style saying: "The Durutti Column Facdr 2.41 Limited edition double promo CDR featuring the brand new Vini Reilly album "Time Was Gigantic... When We Were Kids" together with "Experiments", a selection of some of the rare and previously unreleased material due for release as extra tracks on the imminent second phase of Durutti Column reissues. The new Durutti Column album "Time Was Gigantic... When We Were Kids" and reissues of the clasical DC albums "Another Setting", "Without Mercy", "Domo Arigato" and "Obey The Time" are scheduled for release on Factory Too and Factory Once, respectively, in early October. Design is by 8vo. This set carries the Factory number Facdr 2.41, and with only twenty-five copies in existence - signed, numbered and assembled by Vini himself - this has to be one of the rarest Factory catalogue items ever. p & c 1998 Factory Too/Factory Once" The double CD, that comes with a Vini Reilly plectrum, has rice paper-type inserts with handwritten style titles and tracklists, signed and numbered (mine is 2/25) by Vini Reilly on the back of the front insert. Strangly enough, 'Time Was Gigantic' has only a London cat# (558330-2) and not the Factory Too number Facd 2.31. I'll have to compare the two... Haven't bought that one so I don't know if it's there or not - it was included in a promo of bonus tracks earlier this year, but given Factory Too's slightly sloppy attitude (a track was left off the reissue of the first album, substituted for an alternate mix of another) I wouldn't bet on it. For those of you who have no idea what I'm on about, the Durutti Column is Vini Reilly, who has been turning out gentle, intricate guitar (and occasionally piano) music for about twenty years. He sounds a bit like Michael Brook's "Live at the Aquarium", played on Morrissey's first album, is (I think) the only act currently recording for Tony Wilson's Factory Too label. Eight of his Factory albums have now been reissued on Factory Once, and there's a new one out soon. Go for "Vini Reilly" first, it's sublime.
