Hope everyone's not too tired of discussing this. There's some confusion about their albums that I hope I can clear up...they had six proper albums. I have an extremely exhaustive discography that I can mail to anyone who's interested. In addition to these albums, they also had many additional songs and b-sides that didn't get collected... The videos I know of are; "Shine On" (original), "Christine", "I Don't Know Why I Love You", "Beatles and the Stones", "Feel" "You Don't Understand". I'm sure there are more. BTW, the official reason for the break up was that Pete Evans, the drummer was leaving the music biz. I still haven't heard anything from Guy's project "The Madonnas". House of Love - self/titled Creation album (w/original Shine On, Christine, Love In A Car) Great indie pop! Lots of youth and emotion, and some great songwriting. Nice 2nd guitar from Terry Bickers. House of Love - self-titled (Creation singles compilation)-German only release (w/early Creation singles/b-sides, 2 unreleased songs) Less polished indie pop, but still great. This has the two "lost" b-sides from what was intended to be their 5th Creation single "Safe", but was later shelved. House of Love - self/titled 1st Fontana album (Butterfly cover) (w/Shine On ^2, I Don't Know Why I Love You, Beatles and the Stones) This is the classic House of Love album, IMHO. It's ultra-produced and has my favorite drum-sound on it "Shake and Crawl". This was Guy's pinnacle as a lyricist. House of Love - self-titled (Spy in the House of Love cover) (lots and lots of b-sides, outtakes, mostly re-recorded) Not a bad collection of b-sides, but a bit more uneven. House of Love - self-titled (Babe Rainbow cover) (w/Feel, Crush Me) This one is as highly produced as the Butterfly album, but they went for a more organic, 60's-retro feel. Overall the songs are quite good, but some are a bit overindulgent. House of Love - Audience with the Mind Supposedly recorded in 3 weeks, like their debut album. It features the main trio of Guy, Chris and Pete Evans with an occasional guest guitarist. I believe this album was knocked out quickly to fulfill their commitment to Fontana, and it shows. Also has a song sung by Chris (the bass player) which is not very good. -- Chris. luna@teleport.com
