The andalusian dog of Un Chien Andalou is a reference to Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca. He was a close friend and collaborator with both Dali and Bunuel during the early twenties at Madrid's "Residencia de Estudiantes". He had major falling outs with both of them but his influence on their artistic production can't be underestimated.
