      Woodenspoon's "SouffSouff" is definitely Mark Clifford. But only 700 or so were
      released and they disappeared immediately. Finding a copy of this 12" now would
      be like stumbling across a stash of "Hangable Auto Bulb 2"s...

      "SouffSouff" is excellent - and well worth hunting down. Not terribly original -
      it DOES sound like Mark Clifford pushing further into AFX territory. I think
      it's his take on jungle, just as AFX did with HAB1+2. Very clattering and
      strange with rapid-fire breaks and some Clifford-esque melodies. I personally
      think it's the best thing he's ever done, but people who find the two Disjecta
      CDs too derivative are advised to stay away.

      The Woodenspoon 12" is something of a promotional stunt. Apparently, _Clean Pit
      & Lid_ didn't sell as well as Warp had hoped, so they pressed this 'mystery
      artist' 12" to rekindle some interest. You should have seen the insanity that
      was the IDM List before the identity of Woodenspoon was let ouf of the bag! Then
      again, maybe you're lucky if you didn't!

      If you have heard Woodenspoon and do enjoy it, by all means track down anything
      you can find on Skam. It's Autechre's side-label (and their alter-ego, Gescom,
      have put out three brilliant 12"s on this imprint) and everything they've
      released has been consistently excellent. Don't even THINK about missing the
      Jega 12" if you appreciate truly inventive and exhillarating electronica!

      Anyone ever tried e-mailing Mark C? I think I'll do that - let him know that we
      haven't given up faith in our brilliant friend. Anyone want to join me?
