There are other very subtle differences which I haven't fully documented yet. As I seem to end up reporting every 6 months or so, the US/UK versions of Century Flower were similarly different with two different versions of "Between Two Waves", but the same track order. Also the UK vinyl plays at 45 rpm, but I seem to remember the speed being ever so slightly off. As for EPs, I know of the following: Cavalry Of Cloud 12" Anatomy of Love 12" (I need this one. Anyone, anyone?) Shatter 12" All of these have non-album tracks. I don't know about any 7" or CD-EP releases. "Dead Cat" was supposedly the single from Humroot, but I don't know if it was ever released as such. There is a pre-release tape of Humroot with a very subtly different version of "Dead Cat" which was remixed for the album. Shatter Dead Cat maybe some others? That was the single/video/ remixed song on Humroot. That's what I get for doing this all from memory... The video for Shatter is the "Ophilia" one. It's a truly wonderful video! From our interview: submerged in a very, very cold lake, and you have a wet suit on underneath your dress which is really uncomfortable anyway, and you have to put your head out of the water, supporting it with your neck muscles so that you can hear the backing track to sing to- I mean I was in a terrible state at the end of that; they had to get me whiskey and everything 'cause my teeth were chattering! It was good fun, I mean it's like being tortured for a few hours, but it was good fun as well. they've got lots of lakes and everything. I think the director just had a very... he was obsessed with Ophilia, that painting... do you know the painting? That's really what he wanted to conjure up. I was a bit frustrated because we'd been typed "pre-Raphaelite" blah, blah, blah., ever since we began, and at the end of the day we ended up doing a Pre-Raphaelite video! [laughs] It was really funny, they gave me this sort of antique dress, and I really didn't like it, 'cause it came right up to the top of my neck and it was really uncomfortable to wear, but as soon as I went into this lake, I was covered in sludge and slime. I mean you probably can't see it in the video, but when I got out of that lake, it looked like I had been collecting rubbish for a couple of weeks. It was really funny! [laughs] ...not quite what they wanted, you know. And approximate times of release would be nice to know, as well. The only output of theirs I was aware of were the three albums, and a song called "Ice" that they recorded for a Columbia Xmas compilation a few years ago. I don't know anything about Jemaur Tayle's current whereabouts or activities, but I read in some 'zine a while back that Caroline Crawley plus the Cure's old rhythm section (including the drummer - Boris Williams? - who was her boyfriend at the time) played 13YI as Ether. There was talk of a 4AD release from the band, but I've not heard a thing since then. I believe she last appeared singing backup on Spiritualized's "The Slide Song" (from _Pure_Phase_). ---Jeremy Here in the flesh, piggy smack.
