The Stereolab CD comes in an incredibly stupid cardboard package, the CDs are hardly secured at all and fall on the floor unless you keep a tight grip on it. No complaints about the music, I have about half the songs on the album already but I can't say I dig out the Select tape to listen to "Seeperbold" very often so it's nice to have it all in one place. A good mixture from the free single given away with MAQ in 1994 (which was in itself a throwback to the earlier Krautrock style when compared to the album itself) up to last year's "Iron Man" tour single (A-side of which is one of their best efforts of recent years). A lot of the latin-jazzy stuff which I'm not over-fond of, but a lot of that eerie drone-rock which they have stopped doing in the last couple of years, and as with the second "Switched on" it's actually a better album than many of their proper albums. There's very little missing, unless you count radio session or live versions of previously released songs. The two from the Wurlitzer Jukebox split with Cat's Miaow (one of which is a version of "Moogie Wonderland"), the cover from the Godz tribute album on Lissy's, and "Simple Headphone Mind", of course. Plus the remixes from the last album, which I suppose were outside the remit anyway.
