Yeah, I just discovered it at the radio station where I DJ and engineer. The track is a double song, I suppose. It's titled One Note Samba/Surfboard. The 'lab are paired With a guy called Herbie Mann, who I assume must be a Latin-style flutist, as this instrument is very prominent in the mix. Yep, there it is: "Herbie Mann: C flute." Latin flutes and Moogs never sounded so good together! There is a segway abt. 2/3 of the way through the track to what must be the second song. The second song features a vibraphone or perhaps a marimba. I've only listened to it a couplea times. It's a cool track. 'Course, Stereolab can do no wrong in my book ;-) The rest of the CD is kinda spotty. Other good tracks include people such as EBTG, Money Mark, Ryuchi Sakamoto, Mad Professor, and David Byrne. I am not sure when it's released publicly, but the Stereolab track is cool enough to warrant a purchase on its merits alone. However, that doesn't mean that the rest of it sucks. It's just the most outstanding track on the comp (IMHO). Don't take my word for it. Have a listen if you have the opportunity. TTFN, Chris M.
