Track two is >pretty f***in' scary- but in a totally pretty way. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I lost some interest in it halfway through, but the first several tracks are excellent. I do like the way track 1 incorporates some meaty samples of Lou Reeds immortal (if unlistenable) "Metal Machine Music" -- that first blast of noise you hear is straight off of it, although I couldn't tell you which side it's from. >After I picked up Ghost I quickly had to pick up Semtex. My first thought was that it was other bands remixing 3EF, but on listening to it and reading the sleeve more carefully, it's the other way around. This one's for 3EF completists only, for the most part, although the lengthy FSA collage at the end is quite nice. AMP's Perceptions is a great one for a rainy day- much like the weather we've been having lately. Perception is AMP's flawless attempt to pair it down. Sirenes however is much more varied and the structure is more like and "album" as opposed to the experimental-ness of creating a one track texture piece. It's quite fun to listen to both Perception disc back to back and pick up the differences between the two- which are subtle. I highly recommend Sirenes to anyone curious about AMP. It simply kicks ass. > >I dig Flying Saucer Attack's more experimental, textural and loopy work, >but didn't like Third Eye Foundation's 'Ghost' album. And Ghost, in contrast to your opinion is my fave of Matt Elliot's experiments. I had been very curious about Semtex's dead animal photo for a long time and took a chance with Ghost. I was very impressed with it. I listen to it often and while it doesn't make much for "office-work" music - but I love it for the studio or for driving (when I am lucky enough to rent a car for a road trip or when I am a friend's passenger). I recommend giving 3EF's Ghost another chance. I consider the violent and abrasive textures to be quite spirited and uplifting in its spookiness and sincerity (uh, did I just say that?) I love it. You should love it too. :)
