They have both out of print for the past five years or so, but the band recently received some returns and offered them to us to sell to the public at non-collector prices. Here's some info on the band from our most recent catalogue: "Breathless are a long time favorite of ours and we've recently gotten our hands on the majority of their releases which have become almost impossible to find anywhere! The London based band have consistenly put out it's own brand of awe inspiring dark psychedlic tinged music since 1985 via their own Tenor Vossa label. Singer Dominic Appleton's passionate and romantic vocal style is well known from his contributions to This Mortal Coil's "Filigree and Shadow" and "Blood" albums, though in Breathless he often plays a more intense role, leading the way through the glowing landscapes of rapturous fury that grow from warm rich atmospheres." If you dig TMC, buy it. It's grown on me since I wrote this. Breathless - _Heartburst_ [Satellite] You know "The Jeweler" as done by This Mortal Coil? One of my all time favorite songs. Anyway, this is a greatest hits CD from the band fronted by the singer of that song, Dominic Appleton. I don't know anything about Breathless, but I quite like this compilation. None of the songs are quite as sparse and introspective as "The Jeweler", but some come close. The big difference is that where Ivo uses lots of non-standard instrumentation (non-standard from the Rock'n'Roll perspective) this is a straight-up rock band: vocalist, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums. While I did say it is not sparse, a lot of room is left in the mix for the vocals (as is the case with bands like RHP and the later Muses). Anyway, while this disc won't be played much when I just want to sit down and listen to music, like my TMC discs, it will be a top choice when I want a soundtrack for a dinner with friends.
