 SALARYMAN VOIDS & SUPERCLUSTERS 
 This is a remix of a track taken from the City Slang album Salaryman,
 out now. It's also available on the Voids & Superclusters 12", alongside
 three other exclusive tracks. Pioneers of what they call "Basement
 music", they are, according to Mojo, "weird, wild and funky".


 SCALA REMEMBER HOW TO BREATHE
 Scala are 2/3rds of Seefeel, have been described as "slippery, funky and
 catchy as hell" [ Melody Maker], remixed by Richard Fearless and Bruce
 Gilbert on their last single, and are currently in the studio with Mark Van
 Hoen [Locust] recording their eagerly awaited debut album which will
 feature this track, and will be out early '98.


 TRANS AM HOME SECURITY
 A sneak preview from the City Slang / Thrill Jockey album "The
 Surveillance"? out late March 98. Trans Am's obsession with RAWK and
 ELECTRONICA is here taken to new heights with a drum and keyboard
 workout so wonderfully dry and bare we're already preparing for a
 shockingly good follow-up to their 1997 masterpiece Surrender To The
 Night.


 LONG FIN KILLIE RINGER
 Taken from the Too Pure album Amelia [out now] and sounding like "Roni
 Size sizing up A.R Kane" [Melody Maker]. Long Fin Killie, in the tradition
 of those Scottish bands that manage to sound like no-one else - see
 Arab Strap on one hand or Mogwai on a very different hand - will be
 brewing up a strange and intense storm.


 8 FROZEN MODULES DELIVERY FOUR
 From California, via Texas, comes the rebirth of cool, and this time it's
 chilling! Mindbending, glacial and scarily intense dub and electronica
 tales taken from the City Slang album The Confused Electrician out late
 January 98.


 TO ROCOCO ROT MIT DIR IN DER GEGEND (sehr)
 Berlin and Dusseldorf's finest minimalist trio revisit a track taken from
 the City Slang album Veiculo, out now. Some bands are ahead of their
 time, and To Rococo Rot are even further ahead than those. This remix
 is also available on the Paris 25 ep.


 LAIKA SHUT OFF / CURL UP
 "Laika is where machines meet melody..Solid grooves but beautiful too"
 Sunday Times. This track is taken from the ridiculously well received Too
 Pure album Sounds Of The Satellites [out now]. Laika impressed Thom
 Yorke so much he asked them to accompany him on tour. They are
 currently touring the states and will back in the new year to record a
 new album.


 SCHNEIDER™ CAMPING
 More fine German electronica from a man who's been known to
 perform with synchronised swimmers on stage beside him. By the way,
 Germany's the new Chicago, you know... Taken from the City Slang
 album Moist out April 98.


 MOUSE ON MARS SCHNICK SCHNACK
 Mercury Music Prize winners on a different planet, XFM favourites
 Mouse on Mars' album Autoditacker is truly other worldly and features
 this cheeky yet slightly sinister tune. They have been described as "a
 larder of delights from light footed techno, overgrown jungle and
 krautrocking forward velocity" The Wire


 TORTOISE SWUNG FROM THE GUTTERS
 The pioneers of the so called post rock scene, and one of the most
 fundamentally original bands of the 90s. This is the first taste of the
 forthcoming City Slang / Thrill Jockey album TNT? out March 98, which
 has left us speechless.


 SEELY SOFT CITY
 Too Pure's resident US band from Atlanta, Georgia recorded their first
 album with Tortoise's John McEntire and are now in the States on tour
 with Cornershop and GusGus. This track is from their newly released
 album Seconds - "dub, drone-rock, Moog moments and velvet vocals
 combine to form a slab of song- structured sound" ID


 TECHNO ANIMAL DEMONOID
 A monstrous fuckbeast of a record that sets the agenda for the City
 Slang album Techno Animal VS Reality? out February 98, a soundclash in
 which Techno Animal take on the likes of Alec Empire, Ui, Tortoise,
 Spectre and here Porter Ricks. Also available as a 12"


 JACK CINEMATIC
 Sufficiently rested from last year's constant presence in the music press
 and gossip columns, Jack are in the studio with Darren
 Allison[Spiritualized, Broadcast] recording a new album. Cinematic is a
 demo from those sessions.Jack are both bohemian and perverted and
 you can expect a new single and album out early 98


 HEFNER BROODMARE
 The new boys on the Too Pure label and already good enough for
 Gordan Gano -Violent Femmes - to move his flight so he could catch
 their gig. They are currently recording their debut album with Tony
 Doogan of Belle and Sebastion fame to be released March 98.


 CALEXICO COBRE
 Widescreen Western antics from Tucson, Arizona drenched in Tequila.
 An hors d?oeuvre from the City Slang/Quarterstick album The Black
 Light,out late April 98, where Mariachi trumpets collide with, erm
 post-rock and even latino beats and a more experimental route is being
