v/a - "touch sampler #3" (touch T_ZERO_3)

   i'll be brief here...a stylishly put together collection of material from
the touch crew (which ain't at all surprising)...some of the old-skool cronies
are present: ex-wire boy bruce gilbert checks in with "voice" which is way more
interesting that anything on the dull "in esse"; and chris watson (late of
cabaret coltaire, hafler trio) doing his environmental recordings schtick.
new(er) folks farmers manual, panasonic, AER bring us heretofore unreleased
gems from their archives...interspersed with these are various field
recordings, film samples, ambient spaces & a gamelan orchestra to bridge the
"songs" together seamlessly.  i would guess that most of these tracks will end
up on individual aritist's records in '98, so you may want to wait n' see but
i'm tellin' ya:  the whole item here is much more than the sum of it's lil'
pieces.  oh yeah, there's a scala track tacked onto the end ("fuser",
apparently from their forthcoming EP _siren_)...not as captivating as anything
on last year's _slide_ ep but it certainly shows some radiance.
