eyesore radio v7

eyesore radio is a weekly show that features tracks from various bands on 4AD and some inane babble by me in between.

This edition of eyesore radio features the second installment of the thirteen part «History of 4AD» series. Well, actually, this series is just me playing a few songs from each year that 4AD has been going and me making some general comments about what went on that year.

This week's show covers 1981, and features:

• «Cs» by Dif Juz from the Huremics ep.
• «Mr. Clarinet» by The Birthday Party from the Mr. Clarinet single.
• «Fish Five» by Colin Newman from the Provisionally Entitled The Singing Fish album.

  This is a fifteen minute show and is distributed as a 4Mb gzipped 8kHz .au file, which means that you should be able to play it on Suns without much bother. If you need to convert it to some other format, you should get hold of sox.

  If you'd like to get the file by hand (ie. ftp) and, say, play in on an SGI, you'd do the following:

  $ ftp www.evo.org
  login: anonymous
  password: user@site
  
  ftp>bin
  ftp>cd /pub/eyesore/radio
  ftp>get eyesore.v7.au.gz
  ftp>quit
  $ gunzip eyesore.v7.au.gz
  $ sox eyesore.v7.au eyesore.v7.aiff
  $ playaiff eyesore.v7.aiff
