World: Europe: Britain: London: St. James's Hall

Concert hall in Westminster, used for concerts, balls, and public meetings. Opened in 1858 and demolished in 1905. A new building, built 1907, now bears the name.

REDH: Holmes took time out from his investigations to attend a concert.

Holmes: "Sarasate plays at St. James's Hall this afternoon. What do you think, Watson? Could your patients spare you for a few hours?"

Watson:"When I saw him that afternoon so enwrapped in the music at St. James's Hall I felt that an evil time might be coming upon those whom he had set himself to hunt down."
