World: Asia: Crimea

The Crimean War was fought from 1853-1856, between England, France and Turkey against Russia. [JT]


GLOR: James Armitage was convicted in 1855, " when the Crimean War was at its height and the old convict ships had been largely used as transports in the Black Sea."


CROO: Col. Barclay's regiment, the Royal Munsters, distinguished itself in the Crimean War.
